Can CFA be done by a tennis coach?

My daughter's ALO told her that a coach could administer the CFA so she has it scheduled with her tennis coach. Tonight she printed off the paperwork to give to him and it says a physical education teacher. She doesn't take phys ed so we went on the ALO's comments. Now we're not sure if this is correct. Anyone know?

I took my CFA w/ USMA last year through my swim coach early in the admissions process (summer). In January I was told that this was not allowed after it was long submitted and I needed a new test administrator as well as had to retake the test. I only speak from experience with USMA. I ended up speaking to the JROTC instructor at my high school who is a NCO and he gratefully did it for me.

DD did her CFA last year with her Cross Country coach. USAFA accepted it with no problem. So did USNA and USCGA. (Did not submit to USMA.)

I read it somewhere that a coach cannot do it unless he/she is a PE teacher too. I'm interested to know which one is right though:smile:

explained in the candidate handbooks

there is some differences in the acadamies handbooks, where it explains the issue.

Most coaches, at least in Texas schools, will have a PE degree as well as a teacher's credential as they usually have to teach a class and coach. You are probably OK.

I've wondered about a question similar to this...my cross country coach is a PE teacher at another school, and just coaches at mine...would this work?

Thanks everybody
