I am a candidate for the USAFA c/o 2018 and am applying for the early action program. I have everything done with my application besides the CFA, which my XC coach is administering on Thursday, October 31st, around 10 am. My question is how long will the CFA take to process once I enter in my scores?

I feel like I saw someone else on the forum post that his was marked "Received and Processed" almost immediately after submitting, but I just wanted to make sure that the CFA wouldn't take like two days to process and thus dq me from the EAP.

Thanks!

IMO, you are taking a bit of chance that the stars

are all aligned on the 31rst and the process works without a unknownable hitch. The CFA in fact, as I stated earlier, was Rec'd and Proc'd in a flash, unlike all the other App buckets. Having said that, I just hope there are no solar flares or flashes, or an earthquake, etc that coincides with your Data Entry on the AFA Admissions website on the last day!(TIC) Your choice, your responsibility.

Haha I hope so too. If worst comes to worst I can always call my counselor at USAFA and tell him the scores, I suppose. Thanks!

CFA Maxing

If I maxed out events on CFA should I enter the max or what I actually scored?

For example.. My shuttle run was 7.6 seconds, when the max is 7.8. Do I enter 7.6 it 7.8?

Thanks!

Enter your actual score. Let them worry about maxes.

So should I try to do more than 18 pull-ups and 75 push-ups? Or stop at the max?

Max scores

I would say since anything past the max does not help your application, save yourself for the rest of the test. By the time you run you will need the extra you have left.

Max points is max points. By definition, that's the most you can get so there is no advantage to continuing.

Last line... The 100 point maximum score, by event and gender, are listed in the table above. A candidate who achieves the 100 point level on any of the first five events should not attempt further repetitions as this will not improve his/her score.

Just to ease your mind... I submitted my CFA to the USAFA on Oct. 23 around 10 am and it was processed by 1 pm.

My son entered his scores in Saturday 10/26/13 and it was received and processed by noon Monday 10/28/13.

I just did mine today, submitted it, and it took maybe 5 minutes. No problems at all. Good luck!

I took the cfa today and submitted it and it was instantly marked "received and processed!" Yay! Now I just have to wait for my alo to enter in his evaluation. Anyone know how long that will take?

hopefully he got it in! you make early action?

howd the cfa go

He still hasn't entered it in, but I made it in for early action! The Academy said that as long as everything that is in your control is in, you are good for early admission. So I have the little thing on my portal that says "your packet will be reviewed for early action."

I did my interview about 2 months ago, and my packet won't be complete until he enters it in. Plus a waiver can only be submitted if a packet is complete, so I've just been waiting on him to complete his evaluation. I have my nomination and everything done, just waitin' on the eval. My ALO seems to get a bit testy when I ask him about it...

But the CFA went great! High scores or maxes in everything except basketball throw, that's always been my weak point.
