my son received LOA in the mail yesterday. Just finished up his interviews with senators and congressman over the last 3 weeks. thank you to everyone here on the forums for educating me, the more I learned from you, the more supportive I was able to become over these last many months of watching him chug through the process. Hoping to see that nomination come through for him. I have learned alot about my son watching him go through all of the steps in the process. It has been a growing experience for all of us. Thanks again to everyone who shares on the forums.

Rooting for him to get a nom. I'm sure he will. Wait until you see the growth the next few years... you'll be stupified! :thumb:

Ditto That!

Find ourselves in exactly the same situation as gmemgoch; LOA arrived yesterday as well. waiting on nom. Want to let everyone know that I echo his sentiments 100% re: the advice, support and counsel that all you have so kindly offered.

Thank you so much!

Congratulations!

Congrats! It is a process...

My DS also received his LOA from the USNA and he also has his Presidential nominations for both USNA and USAFA. He needs to complete his CFA this week. (plans to do this over Thanksgiving break).

He received a nomination from MOC for USAFA this week.

He was advised to seek other noms from all mocs since he was applying to two academies but when he was interviewed yesterday with moc a panel member stated he was wasting their time since he was already nominated.

He was confused and really didn't know what to say but sorry. Oh well, it was good practice for interviews and he didn't feel like it was time wasted.

It just goes to show you that individual moc's have differing approaches. My son also has the LOA + Presidential nom. He contacted the moc he had already arranged an interview with to see if he should pass on the interview thinking maybe they could use the time for someone else.
They encouraged him to go through with it as it "shows motivation". The interviewers were aware of his status. He said the interview was overall a very positive experience. So who knows? I'd check with the moc's
office and let them decide

I agree. It was really just one of the members of panel... and he asked why my DS didn't tell them in the beginning of the interview. That part was DS fault but geez, it's not like he was hiding it - he just had a couple of very busy weeks (two official visits and trying to make up 4 days of ap classes missed).

My son should have explained that and that he was advised to attend interview but he just was blindsided and simply apologized. Which is okay too... no excuses.

Life and learn.

Funny thing... the other MOC office is not holding interviews.

Thanks.
