I have medical exam soon.

Apparently, according to army height-weight standards, if my height of 66 inches, I have be at least 117lb.

But my weight is different throughout the day. Some times I am 113 and some other times I am 118, depending on the time, activity level and how much I eat.

Would this get me disqualified?

But by the way, I am trying to gain weight... trust me hahahaha

Two words. Peanut butter.

Hey davidheang
When I went to my dodmerb examination I weighed 118 pounds and I am almost 69 inches. I later received a letter saying I was under the minimum weight requirements and they asked me to have blood work sent to them and a letter from my personal doctor saying I didn't have an eating disorder. After that was all done I became qualified.

do some pushups and eat a few peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day from now until your exam. you'll be fine.

I was underweight as well, I just ate a ton of food for a couple weeks until I could hold around the weight they wanted. Then piled it all on one day with lots of heavy food and water (with salty foods to hold the water in) then went down and weighed in 5 pounds over. Originally I weighed about 123 for 69 inches and at the end weighed 133. It was surprisingly easy to gain the weight; I do run cross country and Track and had to stop running to get it done and now I'm feeling that, but it was worth it to become qualified.

on a more serious note, don't take the weigh minimums lightly (no pun intended). If and when you make it to the Academy and the Army, you will have to do quite a bit of ruck marching. It's a heck of a lot easier if the ruck doesn't weigh more than you ;)

David,

I went in marginally underweight (130, 5'11") but it wasn't an issue. As noted by others I was more challenged during some parts of training (such as rucking) but other parts were easier (running, general agility, etc). Go ahead and gain a few pounds if you're worried or the Academy keeps heckling you, but realize that it doesn't really matter that much.

Eating an apple or two with peanut butter every day plus drinking milk instead of water goes a long way. I gained 15 pounds in four weeks that way.

Weight gainer works

I suggest a weight gainer milk shake after every meal..
Keeping in mind you do not loose your stamina..:zip:

Good Luck!!

...largely a waste of money, unless you are putting a lot of work into bulking up in the weight room. and even then mass gainers are mostly a waste of money

I'm with Big Bear. As evidenced by this CrazyHorse's loose spelling standards, he should probably spend a little less time drinking weight gainer and a little more studying for TEEs.
