Pennsylvania Nominations?

A friend of mine who is a reapplicant said last year he got word over Christmas break.

Neither of us have heard anything yet so far. I wouldn't expect anything until we get closer to Christmas.

PA Nominations

Senator Casey's Office indicated a letter will be sent to all those who interviewed the second week of January.

Do PA Senators and congressmen/women talk and coordinate their nominations?

If anyone hears from 8th district, please post here! Could be any day now...

I assume Senator Toomey's nominations are on the street. My DS did not receive one. Letter of declination dated 2 January and received this afternoon. FWIW, my DS has a conditional LOA to the USMMA, requiring (in part) a nomination.

We are trusting the process and pinning our hopes on our Congressman.

I still have heard nothing. I only applied for a nomination to the USNA.

Negative. We were told that he would be communicating his decisions in the second week of January. I have no idea how he is going to communicate those decisions, just the timeframe.

Toomey - still waiting
Casey - still waiting
Cartwright - still waiting

Yep! We're still waiting with the rest of you!

andzgrl,
You are just north of us (we are in Mountain Top). DS and I are in PA-11 (Rep. Barletta).

I am surprised you have not heard from Sen. Toomey (either way). My DS was rejected by Sen. Toomey on 2 Jan.

I was told that Rep. Barletta mailed his letters today. They are coming from his Harrisburg office so I expect we will know one way or another by Monday.

For whatever reason, PA nom announcements are coming much later this year than in the past.

I live in 8th district, I have yet to hear from either senator as well as my congressman. The only info I have from my congressman being someone on this forum posting they received a nomination from him. I assume that means I did not receive one but I will not believe anything as fact until I have a letter in hand!

Hi bearhunter66,

We actually are south of you in Schuylkill Haven. District 17 is crazy with it's lines.

Yes, I too am surprised that we have not heard anything from Toomey's office. After reading your post last weekend, I thought for certain that my son would have heard from him too. My only guess is that they are sending the notifications out in waves or by district or by SA or by ???

As far as Congressman Cartwright, my son was expecting to hear from him before Christmas, as that was what he was told at his interview. I guess things didn't go as planned as he is still, very anxiously, waiting on word from his office.

And in the midst of all this waiting and portal checking, he discovered tonight that he was awarded a 4 year NROTC scholarship to Drexel. That was some great news and some much needed relief! Back to Nom waiting tomorrow!

All the best to you all!

Casey's nomination

I received a nomination from Casey to USAFA today and have been nominated somewhere else by my congressman

CONGRATS to you!!!

If you don't mind, how did you find out about the Casey nomination?

I received a phone call to my home in both instances. Senator Casey's office told me that letters were being mailed today.

Thanks. Congratulations on the NROTC - I'm still waiting on my NROTC Marine Option.
