I'm not 100% sure if this question hasn't been answered already, but I thought I would ask anyways. Last month I was awarded an AROTC scholarship from the first national board. Would it be appropriate to send a copy of the award letter to the admissions office to show that I will be serving my country regardless of an appointment? I feel like this would show my dedication, and show that I am in high demand (at least according to Cadet Command, as only the top 1% were awarded from the first board.) Is this a good idea?

No.

They don't need that information.

BUT CONGRATULATIONS!!

A perfect backup plan!! :thumb:

I am sure this answer is out there - but.... I am USAFA candidate, have also applied for AFROTC scholarship as backup plan B. If I am NOT accepted to USAFA this year, accept AFROTC scholarship for first year, can I reapply to USAFA again a year later?

yes, as long as you are "at least 17 but not past your 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year you enter the Academy"

You can reapply regardless of your participation or scholarship status within ROTC (even if to a different service branch academy). ROTC commanders/officers are usually very supportive of their cadets applying to one of the service academies out of ROTC and you will need their recommendation/endorsement.

BTW - once in ROTC, you have an additional potential nominating source.
