I just received a call from my nominating source that stated I would be receiving an appointment to West Point. Words can't describe my excitement right now. It was a blessing to receive this information earlier than I believed I might. Thank you to everyone who has posted on these forums as the advice here was very useful in the application and nomination processes.

Just got the same call from my congressman's office. Congratulations! and thanks to everyone. Looks like I'll be seeing you in July.

I too received this call. See you guys soon!
P.S. someone needs to start an appointment thread, I don't know how to format it.

Congrats! I've seen a bunch post on twitter and Instagram of appts as well! I guess they're starting early!

A word to those who are anxiously waiting -
Very few appointments are going out right now so do not despair if you are not one of them.
These appointees, for the most part, are the ones that have a LOA with a nom, or are 3Q'd P-noms or are the obvious vacancy winners for MOC and Service-Connected noms.
MOST offers will still come after the application deadline of 28 FEB. :thumb:

Buff,

What if anything, will show up in the portal indicating an offer of appointment? Will the BFE show up before the portal changes?

DS is a principal nom and 3Q. Not that I am anxious or anything.

The MOCs are given the first opportunity to Congratulate the new appointee. WP gives them 72 hours to have this honor and then, if the MOC has not contacted the appointee, the FFR can share the news. Many MOCs like to call them at school to congratulate them.
Sometimes, the BFE arrives in the mail without anyone making contact with the appointee. He could get the BFE by the end of the week.
It shouldn't show up on the portal until after the 72 hours have passed. Then it depends when it gets entered. You could get the BFE before it shows up on the portal.
Congratulations to your DS! :thumb:

Oddly enough, I was not a P-nom, or LOA, but I did have LOE. Maybe that was part of it?...

most likely you were the vacancy winner for your MOC's competitive slate or you received one of the slots for the Presidential nom. Congratulations!

MOCs have until 31 January to submit their slates to WP but some turn it in sooner and if so, WP may be able to determine at this date who the clear winner of that slate is. Sometimes it is not so clear. For ex, some on the slate may not have completed their application yet or they are not 3'd yet.
