AROTC Second Board Decisions?

Has anyone else been boarded for the Second Army ROTC Selection board? If so, have any of you been notified of receiving a scholarship? Just curious about how long I would have to wait.
 
The 2nd board was on 1/6, and others that received scholarships from the 1st board said they were notified 2-4 weeks after. Hopefully we'll know something by the end of January.
 
Last years second board updated the portals on Feb. 1st. Best of luck to you all.

I'm waiting too. I'm pretty nervous about it and I'm counting down the days till Feb. People say you will know because all the recent threads will be about scholarship notifications.

Sans scholarship... you can still live your dream. You'll just have to pick up the tuition tab. Oh, and may I add... The friendships I established in my ROTC years have remained stong for dcades. With or without scholarship, I highly recommend participation in AROTC.
 
Me too. I'm on pins and needles. The more time passes the more I want to be involved in ROTC. I have already decided join ROTC regardless of getting the scholarship, but I am really hoping and praying I can attend the school of my dreams which could only happen through the scholarship. In the meantime I am working to build up my PT scores.
 
If you are feeling anxious, go for a run. Nothing works off that nervous energy like a 10 mile jog.
 
Thanks all! I plan on enrolling in ROTC and commissioning regardless of a scholarship as well, there's nothing more exciting than serving my country! I do believe that once I'm in ROTC, I'll also forge friendships that'll last a lifetime :)
 
Louis, I don’t know if the second board will follow suit of the first, but this is how the timeline for the first AROTC board of 2013/2014 went:

I am a bit fuzzy on the date, but if I recall, the first board was pushed to Nov. 4th because of the government shutdown.

About 2 ½ weeks later (Wednesday, Nov. 20th ), a mass emailing went out in the afternoon advising the selected candidates that they had received a scholarship. It also said that a follow-up letter would be received about 7-10 days later.

The next day, one school (the first alphabetically) of the three that were offered (to first board recipients) was listed online at the Army ROTC scholarship status site.

Then, within just a few days, a copy of the winner letter was posted in the scholarship portal (not the check status site) under the file upload system, titled "winner letter." It reflected all the schools the candidate was offered to choose from, and whether it was a 3 or 4 year scholarship award.

The actual mailed award letter started arriving to awardees on Nov. 25th. Though, it was the same as the one that could be viewed on the portal.

Again, who knows if the timeline for the second board will follow that of the first, so this is just fyi only. Good Luck to all!!! :smile:

My experience was slightly different. The school listed on my email was not the first listed alphabetically. It also wasn't my first choice. Ironically, it was the school I ended up choosing, but it was actually last alphabetically and my second choice based on my application. Also, my candidate portal (the application site) was never updated to notify me of the other two schools. Although I have now accepted the scholarship to the University of Tennessee and been medically qualified, my portal still shows no change from before I even completed my interview. I think my point is to tell you not to worry if these things don't happen to you, because some cases just don't fit into the mold for some reason.
 
My experience was right on with Aveon's. I received an email on November 20th. The next day, the Army ROTC Scholarship Application Status System was the first to update with only one of my schools listed (alphabetical for me too). That site still shows the same information.

Now, the actual AROTC application site, where we filled out our application, is where the winner letter was found. When you get back into the application system click the application tab, then file upload tab, then you can click on your winner letter, if it is there. Mine posted on Nov. 25th, at 4pm- five days after receiving the first email regarding winning the scholarship. Since then, my medical and eye exam and my acceptance letter have uploaded there, too. In fact, it seems to have all the correspondence uploaded there concerning my file: transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc. Everything can be viewed and download if I click on them. :thumb:

EDIT: There is nothing that will notify you that these things have been uploaded in your system, you just have to look for them every now and then in your file uploaded documents on the application portal. Remember, this is not in the application status system, it's the actual portal where we apply.

You have to create a DODMETS account and start filling out online forms/scheduling appointments. It's pretty eas to figure out, they basically walk you through it!
