NROTC Board??

Crickets with NROTC board results...DS had his application submitted in August-5 months later still waiting for results-this is a good lesson in patience! My thoughts on all of this, because NROTC has between 12-14 boards, the number selected/awarded from each board is going to be small-we aren't seeing the large masses of people getting awarded the scholarship at one time like it is with all the other branches of ROTC which have only 2-3 boards.

Regional NROTC recruiter said this in a email back on 12/27/13 "Board results have started to be released again, finally, but it is still slow right now. I suspect that it will be slow through the end of this year as well, but hopefully we see it pick up once the new year hits. I keep my eye on the results, and will let you know once I see your name show up in either direction."

So we are still in the waiting game with the rest of the other NROTC hopefuls! I really do hope we hear something soon though.

Thanks for that tidbit northpole. DS has had his app done since Labor day and we've only heard crickets as well.

I've said this before on other threads but it always bears repeating for those who might have missed it. It's pretty much crickets from NROTC (in my experience) until you've either won a scholarship or get a final negative response sometime in April. Be working plans B, C, D and E to perhaps include NROTC as a college programmer. We were fortunate and had plan B in hand, but not locked up, early April. When we got a negative reply in mid-April it was no trouble to execute and lock up plan B before the May 1 deadlines.

The waiting is driving me nuts but I am learning a whole lot of patience from this experience!! We'll all know eventually, whether it is positive or negative! Working on Plan B!

Thanks Kinnem, a good reminder. I will continue to hurry up and wait (DS isn't nearly as anxious as I am....LOL)

Yeah, that's the way it was in our house too! Over time, as I've seen how long things take, like getting word on in-school scholarships, getting orders for summer cruises, etc. I've learned to just sit back, forget it, have fun, and then stand to attention when word arrives. No one puts stress on us other than ourselves or at least what we allow from others.
