Accutane use

My DS just received word on 1/24/14 that he won the AROTC scholarship (VMI and GMU), was nominated by MOC for USMA appointment, and needed to make the DODERMB appts. He also has an app into USCGA. We were unaware that Accutane was a medical DQ so he immediately stopped taking it.
My questions:
1. Should we bring paperwork to the physical from his dermatologist (stating we stopped course of treatment along with the clean blood labs he has had)?
2. Have any of you been in this situation with a positive or negative outcome?

Thanks!

Bottom line -- don't stop any meds without your doctor's ok. There appears to be a certain period of time that one needs to be off the meds to be cleared or receive a waiver.

Son took six rounds of accutane 18 months prior to Dodmerb, no remedial request or DQ.
How long will he have been off?

DoDMERB DQ description

D111.00 Acne/Isotretinoin (Accutane) use Acne, severe, extensive or currently treated with Isotretinoin (Accutane) until 8 weeks after completion of Isotretinoin treatment
