My son got a call last night from our congressman notifying him that he will be nominating him to the naval academy. How long will it take for the nomination to be added to his portal. Also since he has an LOA how long will it be until the BFE arrives?

I was wondering the same thing. My DS received his MOC nomination on December 20th and his portal is still only showing one nomination (he also has a NJROTC nomination).

It took my congressional nomination about two weeks to show up on my portal. My BFE arrived about a week after my nomination showed up. (I had an LOA as well)

Depends on when your MOC turns in his/her slate to USNA. They have until Jan. 31 but most do it pretty quickly once they've made their selections. Once USNA gets the noms, they update the portal pretty quickly.

I also had a question about that, I received a nom from my rep and both of my senators, yet my portal shows:

Nomination Source..............State/District..Date Received
Congress/Senator 2.............NM...............18-DEC-2013
Congress/Representative......NM 03...........09-DEC-2013

Does the 2 mean they have both of my senators? Or is that the second senator?

My DS admission counselor told him the 2 doesn't mean the junior senator. He has a nomination from our senior senator as well as our rep. And his portal says 2 next to the senator entry

Just a quick update on my earlier post. Today my portal updated to include congress/ Senator 1. So now all three of my nominations are showing. I suppose the two really did mean the junior senator.

Nomination Question

I received a nomination from Pennsylvania's senior senator, but my candidate information page lists my nomination as "Congress/Senator 2." I know it's not a nomination from my junior senator, as he already told me I won't be receiving one from him. So does that mean it's a mistake? Because shouldn't it say "Congress/Senator 1?"

DS got a nomination from junior Senator in NY (Gillibrand) and it showed up in his portal as "Congress/Senator 1". So, I wouldn't be too concerned about the "1" or "2" designation. It could be simply the order that the senators submitted their respective slates.

Congrats on the nom, by the way!

Admissions Counselor for DS said the 1 / 2 designation has nothing to do with senior/junior. DS got nom from senior senator but portal said Senator 2
