I feel as if I am a competitive candidate but my ACT math is sub-par.

My scores are ENGLISH 33 MATH 26 SCIENCE 28 READING 28 WRITING 29. From looking at past averages, most are right around those means. Math is obviously a lot lower and I am just curious if a 26 is really as bad as I build it up to be. My math grades in school are respectable, which also makes me wonder if that would bakance out the low ACT score.

What class are you applying for? 2019? Otherwise, it is what it is; there aren't any other test dates you could register for and get the scores to WP before the deadline.

I know from my DS's experience that USMA places great significance on SAT/ACT math because the USMA core curriculum is heavy with math and science. It all depends on your district as to whether you are competitive.

Not sure if 26 would be low enough to qualify you for USMAPS.

Thank you for your reply. I am class of 2018.

It is all relative right? You can't just ask "Are my scores too low?" because they use the WCS. You may have incredible leadership and amazing sports on your file, so it will make up for the lost points on the test scores. It just depends. There are so many different types of candidates that are accepted each year, some will have higher scores than you, some lower. Work on what you can fix now, and don't stress about something you can't. Work on nominations, or extracurriculars, etc. Continue to add things to your profile even now so that when USMA's board meets again, they see that your WCS has improved. Maybe your math isn't what they would like, but you can still be accepted with that score, so don't get down.
