Should I submit these CFA scores?

I just took the CFA. I usually run the mile in 6:50, but after all the other events, I was winded and slowed down quite a bit. If I really cut it close, I could probably fit a CFA in on Friday and try to improve, but that is probably a last resort. My question is, are my CFA scores good enough to submit, or are they bad enough that submitting them would reduce my chances to zero? Thanks!

BB Throw: 67ft.
Pullups: 10
Shuttle Run: 9.16s
Sit-ups: 86
Push-ups: 65
Mile: 7:29

The deadline is Friday right? I think you sleep on it and see if you are up to doing it again if you are concerned.

Good luck!

Dont stress on a below average CFA score it is designed to have you tired so ypu dont do as well as you could in each event solo remember cfa is a small portion of your app

Are these scores passing, or would that 7:29 be an instant no? If it is passing, am I cutting it close?

Thanks for the previous two responses!

They dont tell what a failing score would be, but i ran 7:15 because my shoe came untied and i thought if i tied it i would get slowed down even more. If you wanna cut it close you can but that isnt something i would do.

I am not sure,

But... didn't the academy send the testing info to the teacher? I thought once he administered the test it was out of the applicant's hands and the scores were submitted by the P.E. teacher electronically.

Does the applicant have the right to sit on the results, then deciding whether to have the administrator send them in or not? If that was true then wouldn't most kids take it over and over trying to improve before sending it in?

Just thinking out loud...

The way I understand it, the applicant fills out the information on the online application, and the examiner just confirms the results if the Academy calls. Being caught in a lie like that would probably be an instant disqualification, so I doubt anyone would risk it, on top of the fact that the Academy is all about integrity and honesty.

This is correct for USAFA. USNA required the PE teacher to enter the CFA scores.

My DS did his CFA in spite of a fresh cut on his foot. Though he usually has better run times, he ended up with a 7:38 run and shuttle was around 9:30. I don't know how close that put him to the minimums, but he was qualified through both AFA and USMA.

That makes me feel better. Thank you!
Also, was he accepted, or just qualified with those scores?
(Or is he still in the process?)

He was qualified by both SA and subsequently received an LOE to USMA. But remember, the CFA is only a small slice of the WCS pie.

I took and submitted my cfa on October 31st for the November 1st deadline for early action. It's instantly received and processed, so as long as you get it in before the deadline you're fine. Just focus on doing your best and don't worry about the deadline as long as you meet it.

Stuff happens. Networks fail. Power goes out. Computers go down. I wouldn't want to miss a deadline due to circumstances out of my control... and we don't control everything.

Also, don't forget that each of the Service Academies have different pass/fail requirements -- one score (specifically the basketball throw) may be passing for USNA but not for USMA. If you have a failing score on one part and are a competitive candidate, you may be given a chance to re-take the CFA. Like everything else though, it's in your best interest to get the highest scores possible.

If you feel you can do better, do better. If you can't submit.

After I submitted my CFA to USAFA in October, they requested that I retake it. Took it a second time and did well. Best bet is to try to find out what the passing score is, if possible. Even so, a passing score isn't always a great score. If you feel you can do better, retake it and give full effort. Otherwise, submit it and see what happens. They consider many more things than just the CFA. Good luck!
