Does anyone know when the rated board meets for the class of 2015? I know it is either this month or next. I have heard rumors we will find out this week or next not sure.

Thanks. Good luck.

I've heard mixed responses. Last year, cadets were notified of the results on 14 Feb. I head everything between 14 Feb and 17 Feb for this year.

Regardless, the anticipation is killing me so hopefully soon!

I have always heard it has been around spring break until this year! I was clearly mis informed hah.

Wow! Such a small window from feb 14-17! So either way its soon! Scary. What are you trying for?

Talked to my DS tonight and he said the rated slots were out and given out by the Cadre at LLab today.

A cadet in my sister flight at Field Training just told me he got CSO today....I need to know NOW! lol

And 24 Pilot Slots....Whenever I get "homesick" for my son I watch this video. Even though my DS is not looking for a rated slot I get goose bumps, a lump in my throat, and tears in my eyes as I share in these cadets joy!

BTW DS said competition was definitely more fierce this year...he said about 12 pilot slots 3 or 4 CSO's and 1 RPA... I'll have to wait for the video to come out to know exact #'s :biggrin:

Is this normal for ROTC to get Rated AFSCs this early?
Also, does this mean that the number of rated slot for USAFA is already determined?

ERAU,

I t might not have been more stiff, they may have had fewer cadets requesting rated this year.

AVT,

Yes, the rated AFROTC slots always come out Feb/Mar of their 300 year. It has been this way for eons because if the cadet that requested rated does not get a rated slot, than they will compete in the fall with the 400s that are going non-rated. Additionally, rated will be sent for 3 days over the summer to Wright Pat AFB for their FC1 physical. It is required by the FAA. It is not the 45 min. DoDMERB, it is full day physicals, including EKGs. They also start their TS clearance at this time and it takes about 6 months to process them.
~~~ If they don't give them out at this point, than those that fail the FC1 would not be able to meet a non-rates board since they are released in Sept/Oct. If they gave out in Oct of 400 year, it would also hiccup the TS because it takes so long to get it that plays into manpower for rated schools. How do you assign class dates in Feb/400 yr if these two issues are not solved?
The AFA cadets do not get their AFSC until the equivalent of the AFROTC400 year, but the AF leaves more than enough slots for them. Basically, unlike AFROTC where you need to be certain GPA range, and tech gets an edge over non-tech, they just need to graduate from the AFA.
~ Plus AFA always goes 1st, AFROTC goes after them. They will sit and wait at home for 3-6 months, and than could be on casual status for 3-6 more months. Their DOR is the average of commissioning and report. AFA it will be commission.
Just saw the a cut of a video for this year....and was happy to see what looked like a couple of ladies earning rated slots which I noticed was missing from 2013....:smile::biggrin:
Our DS's AFROTC had 2 girls. One had to get a waiver at WPAFB because her sitting height was not high enough for ejection seat. They told her she would no matter what track heavies.
EE 5 Year
For a 5 year electrical engineer, they would find out their 4th year.
