I understand the Army has scholarships available 3 1/2 year once you get to the ROTC program and put in a semester. I believe these may be called "sideload". Does the Navy have anything similar? I also read on here that there is money left in the pot that students didn't accept the scholarship (Army) and some colleges have this money to offer. (Not sure of the name). Also does Navy have this as well? Thanks.

"Sideload" is what the NROTC calls the scholarships they can offer Mids once they start school.

AROTC just refers to these scholarships as Campus Scholarships.

If the Battalion has the funds and available contracts they can offer these scholarships. These scholarships are offered by the battalions.

In NROTC you have to apply for a Sideload Scholarship each year and I believe it is given from a National Board.

For NROTC the LT I spoke to said you can also re-apply for the 4 year scholarship as long as you have less than 30 credit hours, so you can apply again until you get those credit hours.

Wow, I didn't know this. Is this advertised on any NROTC websites?

It is amazing...the things you can learn on this forum. I have done a lot of research throughout this process, but I have learned far more just reading daily posts here.
