Any idea how many appointments have been mailed out?

Will a "group" be mailed soon? or will they continue to trickle out of admissions?

waiting....not so patiently

I'm in the same boat, friend. This is agonizing.

Same boat as both of you two as well. I thought I would receive something by the end of this week, but considering the amount of snow usna got hit with, I'm guessing the process will be slowed down considerably.

Looks like we are having a yacht party, everyone in the same boat and all... The Jeopardy theme comes to mind! Good luck everyone!

.....nothing worse than a Monday when there is no mail
I looked at it differently. A Monday federal holiday was a break -- we didn't have to wait for the mail to be sorted, and could just do something else until tomorrow!

The phone, on the other hand (given that phone calls are how most positive news is delivered first) ...

Do you think many TWEs have gone out yet? Or is it still too early in the game?

No re. TWEs. I think appointments that have gone out have been to those with an LOA or Principal or service connected nomination, or the clear winner of their MOC. It is still early. Isn't April 15th the magic date, where the majority of candidates will have gotten either the BFE or TWE? USNA has rolling admissions ... you could be waiting another 2 months.

Oh Dear God please don't say another two months! The stress and anxiety is killing my son, myself and my husband.

I thought USNA, with rolling admissions, filled its class earlier than USMA, which has does not have rolling admissions.

Interesting - as of last week, USMA had 399 accepted appointments (33% of expected class size).

With rolling admissions, an earlier portal opening date, and an earlier deadline for completion, you would think that USNA would be ahead of that pace

On the Naval Academy Admissions Facebook page, 3 FEB, in response to someone's question, the answer was: "all students will find out their final admission status by April 15."

So you could find out anytime between now and 15 APR.

My DS was notified by his Congressional Nominee that he would receive his Appointment Letter this week! Makes me sooooooo Happy! It was painful during the wait.... He did, however, receive an LOA.

My friends received a couple of their USNA appointment's today so it looks like a wave came out late last week.

Number of Appointments

I noticed that USNA, in its "Application Guidance for the Class of 2018" attachment to the Official Candidate letters states that "[a]bout 40 percent of the total Offers of Appointment will have been made by mid-January. The remaining candidates selected for appointment will normally be notified by mid-April." If that is so, and if USNA selects about 1500 to fill 1200 slots, then it has sent out about 600 offers of appointment already through the end of January. My figures may be off, but I had been curious of an estimate on the number of appointments made to date. NAPS-to-USNA candidates and service branch member applicants would further reduce the number of available appointments for high school applicants, I would think. Just wondering.

It's my understanding that NAPS and Foundation slots are "reserved" (or at least accounted for) and they have a pretty good grasp by January if those candidates have lived up to their contract (based on predictors via 1st completed semester) which would account for approximately 30% of that 40% number leaving the other 10% for clear cut LOA's and recruited athletes that have been on their radar from the get. Now I know at least with Foundation, their packages go to admissions in late March/April, but the slots need to be accounted for, then opening a slot to the national pool if a foundation/Naps doesn’t cut it which would be why there is hope until Mid April or even May with admission declines again opening a slot to the national pool or MoC slate.
