What would be some good PT scores for the AROTC national scholarship? I did 53 push-ups and 55 sit-ups in one minute, and my best one mile time is 5:43. How would these be?

Those will be fine, nice run time.

So your level of physical fitness necessary to qualify for different branches of military varies depending upon branch??

Yes, each branch has a different mission, and with that they've determined a different physical fitness standard is needed. And everyone just has to be different for the sake of it.

I had very similar scores, 54 pushups, 51 sit-ups and a 5:46 mile. From what I recall when I asked the same question a while back, nothing to worry about here. You have solid scores, don't fret.
Edit: the run time is for a mile, not for a 1 1/2 mile, he's hawking down on world record mile pace if he's running that for a 1 1/2 mile

LOL! You should take a look at what the Marine Corps expects for their PFT sometime!

good scores! Just remember that the official apft is 2min of push-ups and sit-ups and a 2 mile run.
