Going to West Point means I will have to give up hurling, which is a very competitive Irish sport I've been playing for the last year or so. This is very bittersweet for me because New York has one of the largest hurling leagues in the country, and I do not want to give it up if I can help it. After posting on the c/o 2018 FB page, I figured there would be enough interest in the sport for me to start a hurling club at WP so I can continue playing the sport, as well at teach others how to play. How would I go about starting a club? Could I even do that plelbe year?

You need, at a minimum, an Officer to support the club, a certain number of active cadet participants, and most importantly, DCA authorization. The latter is hard to get these days with budget cuts and all. You can try as a plebe, but I wouldn't get your hopes up

What if I were to get an upperclassman on board to help? Would that increase my chances? If not, would I be able to get a waiver to leave campus to play for a local team?

not really, it's more about the officer.

I have no idea- that'd be up to your TAC team most likely
