I've seen the breakdown for the types of scholarships, but can't find the overall stats on how many students apply versus how many get scholarships of any type. Also, is the competition tied to geographical area as it is for the SAs. Any help on those questions would be appreciated.

AFTOTC scholarship are not broken down by region, they are National.
Type 1 = 5%
Type 2 = 15% and the rest are type 7.

But a 4 year type 7 can be converted to a 3 year type 2 .

I got this information off of another thread and am assuming that the information is correct.

Thank you. I assumed that is how the types of scholarships are awarded out of those applicants who receive a scholarship of any type. I am wondering about those who apply and are awarded any scholarship versus those who don't earn a scholarship at all.

I saw a thread from 2011....

Numbers are similar to usafa.

Give or take a little....

9-10,000 apply
4,500 meet the minimum criteria
Just under 1,500 total scholarships were offered

There is another breakdown within the breakdowns.

Of the 5% for type 1 only 5% are awarded non-tech. So when you think about maybe 50 being offered nationally, and you get it as a non-tech, basically you are one of the 3 in the nation.

The overall rate for non-tech is about 15-20%.,

USMC where did you see the 1500 number, I have always been told the HSSP number is under 1K. Could be wrong.

I think it was a 2011 thread....I Google it, it brought me to an old thread. On the road or I would post the link....
