The Class of 2017 just finished their march up the "Rock." They will be completing Recognition with their "Prop and Wing" ceremony shortly. This is a very happy time, as they will no longer be doolies.

It has been the most difficult but also one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

I look forward to helping the 2018ers complete it next year!

I'm tired. Can hardly move. But happy.

Just looking through some of the WebGuy pics, and was thinking about you and the others that I've watched on this forum...

Congratulations, Cadet! Enjoy walking to class (even cutting corners)!

I concur. My body is so beat up and sore right now, but having those prop and wings pinned on was a feeling like no other. Don't lose sight of the end goal 2018.

FlyingFuzz: congrats on being recognized, but I believe this is not the end, it's only the beginning. Enjoy your T'zo walking, civvies and backpack on your back!

Congratulations 2017! Don't lose that motivation over the next few years, each year brings its own challenges. best of luck

Perhaps that was a poor choice of words- obviously it's not THE end goal, but it was definitely the end of a trial by fire (and pushups!).

If a cadet is not deemed worthy of recognition by the squad yet are pinned prop & wings by team mates, does the unrecognized cadet gain the privileges afforded those who truly earned their prop & wings?

There are some great pictures posted from the 2017 Recognition on the US Air Force Academy (Official) Facebook page
