Don't over think it...
I love this group, and also stalk several times a day - as we get closer to the April 15th deadline, more of our true thoughts and feelings are coming out and I so appreciate everyone sharing! We really do have a connection like no other!
As we get closer, we can drive ourselves crazy trying to figure it out or justify why it's taking so long - understandable because we are all caring, involved parents. But consider this practice for the years ahead, especially if your child is connected with the military through a SA or ROTC - this is only ONE of MANY times that we don't have a reason, it just is. We have no control, can't speed up the process, and have no control over the outcome - our only role is to help celebrate (hopefully) of get in damage-control mode and help our child navigate the disappointment (hopefully not now, but eventually there will be big disappointments in one way or another).
We're still waiting with youngest DS...and yesterday celebrated with older DS who got his first choice for summer cruise/training (the first summer that has happened, and he will be a firstie).
The role of parent changes so much with a mid/cadet - we embrace it fully, but like the admissions process it is a ride like no other! And the pride we feel is something that can't be contained!
Each day brings the renewed excitement that today might be the day - that's what keeps up going here in SC
