I have a nomination and am triple qualified for USMA. I have been declined by USNA and the deadline is quickly approaching. I talked to my FFR and she said an appointment is doubtful but until they say no, I will continue to wait. What does me still "being alive" mean right now? Good sign or bad?

Being alive means that you have not been eliminated. It is a good sign that you are highly qualified. It is less than a good sign that FFR indicates an appointment is doubtful because she has more knowledge of who has been accepted/offered or how you rank with other 3Q candidates in your area.

At this point you should act like all 2018 expected slots been either accepted, offered, or slated (e.g., pending med waiver or USMAPS completion) and the last numbers I saw on these boards (somewhere) indicated that over 600 of these offers have been accepted. But until all offers are accepted, there is always a chance they will make their way down to your WCS.

As you have heard many times, keep the Plan B's in place, and focus on what you can control (your path forward) not what you can't (offer of appointment).
