AROTC

Some people have gotten calls from recruiting officers at their schools, but the consensus is: No.

Stay patient!

I'm new here but have been looking at a lot of scholarship posts for AROTC. I can tell you what transpired with my DS. He is an MS1 in the Northeast. He received a 3yr AD scholarship for Fall 2013. Upon return to school for Spring he received an upgrade to 3.5 year and watched 5 other cadets receive a 3.5 year scholarship. If one does not get a national 3 or 4 year scholarship, there is still(at least this year there was) opportunity to receive a scholarship. From what I've read... all posts advise to have the cadet show up in shape and ready to smoke the PT test. Get great grades and do all the extra stuff. Work hard and they should get rewarded if the funds are there. Hope that helps a bit

The key to this, whether it be scholarship upgrade or being awarded a scholarship, is grades. They are worth 40% of your Order of Merit List (basically your class rank among the cadets in your graduating class) ranking. If you don't have the grades, you can forget about even possibly getting a scholarship - no matter how big of a PT stud you are.

Amen to Thompson!
I expect results to be released by the end of the week, early next week...stand by.
