contact dermatitis?

Is contact dermatitis disqualifying from the military? I read the AR 40-501 and it says " contact dermatitis is disqualifying, especially to materials found in required protective equipment. " does this mean that its only disqualifying if its to like rubber or something like that?

My DS had poison ivy issues and it presented no problem. I think contact dermatitis will be a bigger issue if one is allergic to the chemicals in the combat uniform (BDUs). They have additives that make them fire retardant and reduce one's infrared heat output.
The difference being that one can treat poison ivy and avoid it; it is not a daily problem. Wearing a uniform that causes problems will be a daily issue.
