I just got a call from my USAFA counselor that I've received a FFS! What does this mean exactly? She said it will pay about half of the cost to a particular list of schools. Which schools are they exclusively offered to? Thanks!

Basically, you have a pretty sweet deal right now if you really want to come here. They should send you the list of Falcon schools, I remember my year, there were about 8.

I went to NWP and loved it. If you want to talk about it feel free to PM me, and I'd encourage you to call the folks who run the school, as well as any of the other schools you're seriously looking at.

Congrats!!! Would you mind sharing your basic stats/resume?

Blackbird thanks for the link. I was surprised to see a picture of my son front and center from the Falcon dinner this year. It seems like such a short time ago that we were excited by this same opportunity. Now graduation is only a few short days away.

The best advice we were given was accept the Falcon quickly to save your spot. Then check into all the prep options and pick the one that is best for your needs. My son made friends at prep school that are some of his best friends even though they were never in the same squadron at the academy.

Best of luck!

Jackson, I couldn't agree more with you post. It does seem like yesterday that DS received his FF letter and next month he will be a C2C. Time flies. Next year he will be rooming with a buddy from NWP and he is still connected to many NWP Prepsters. Overall, NWP was a great experience for him and certainly one reason he is excelling at USAFA.

Also, I forgot that the FF scholarships are first come first served so as you say, one should accept immediately to save their spot.

I'm leaning towards NWP! My father contacted Mrs. Durbeck and spoke to her for over an hour to get all the details. How to I accept the scholarship? There is a link provided in my letter that I received, but the link just takes me to my portal page. There isn't any option on there to accept or decline

Congratulations! My son also attended NWP on a Falcon Foundation scholarship. His NWP classmates are some of his closest friends, at USAFA and attending the other academies. The Durbecks run a great program.

I believe my son called and told Mrs. Durbeck he had received a scholarship and would like to attend NWP. She added him to the list and they sorted out the paperwork later.

I have heard good things about all of the schools available to Falcon Scholars. You have your golden ticket....make the most of it!

My DS accepted his Falcon Foundation Scholarship last spring. He attended Wentworth in Missouri. Col. Casey at Wentworth has gone above and beyond to help DS - who is now Alpha Company CO and received his appointment to the USAFA 2 months ago. Good luck to you!

That's awesome! I can't wait to meet my fellow preppies :) After talking to Mrs. Durbeck, I'm pretty certain that NWP is where I'm going to go.

I have a twin sister who is going to a local civilian college and it'll be nice to come back and see her for my second semester.

I was in your exact same shoes last year!

I chose NWP, and I couldn't think more highly of the program.

You're making a great decision, and I just wanted to extend a congratulations on all your hard work to be selected for the Falcon Foundation Scholarship.
