Of course you first enroll in NROTC. Then it's a national application/competition once again. Besides providing the same info you did last year, including SAT/ACT, you'll be including your college GPA, PFA scores, and PNS recommendation (which I don't think you will see). The cadre will explain when and how to apply.

There are again, separate boards for Navy and Marine options.

It's very competitive. In the past the average stats for sideload scholarship winners exceeded the average stats for USNA. Work Hard. And then work harder.

Acronym block...what is PNS?

Professor of Naval Science. The top dog. The big cheese. The Skipper.

Got it! Funny to have worked with several federal agencies extensively and familiar with acronym soup to be flung into a new type of soup! Ah, the things we learn for our children!

If you're going in as a college programmer, contact the cadre at the college if you haven't already. There will be applications and physicals you'll need to complete. You'll also want to call in before people start to disappear for the summer. You're never idle in the Navy. When emailing the freshman adviser at my son's unit over the summer before his freshman year, we felt fortunate to get responses from him while he was in Afghanistan. Do it now, whether you execute on that plan or not.

Got it. Response we got from this NROTC unit was to wait until nationals scholarships are finished. DS is still waiting on that as well as USNA. Narrowing units and scheduling to fly up in 2 weeks and hoping we have to cancel
