Army TWE - did your portal change?

Anyone who's already received the dreaded TWE from USMA this year (sorry!), was that also posted on your candidate portal? Our son got the TWE from USNA about a month ago, but still has received no word either way from USMA. The Navy portal never changed after the TWE, but then it didn't last year either - their candidate portal is far more basic and really doesn't provide much information to begin with when compared to the Army system.

With the April 15th deadline come and gone and still no word, sometimes we can't help but wonder if something got lost in the mail or forgotten at the Admissions office. Thanks in advance for any info!

I recommend emailing your Admissions Officer directly.

DS is in the same boat (whoops, guess that's Navy ). When he emailed his RC a few weeks ago he was told to be patient but have a plan B and that USMA would be making appointments into June. I can only assume those will be from the waitlist.

Right - usually somewhat unresponsive... that's why I'm hoping to hear from someone who's planning on re-applying, and who can say what their portal actually reflects after the TWE. Is there another PDF on the home page? A note on the overview page? That sort of thing.

I'll be watching this feed to find out right along with you! Does USMA actually mail a TWE?

Yes, USMA does mail out a TWE (we have one). The RC sent a detailed email after DS wrote and thanked him for his time and asked for suggestions for improving his chances in the reapplication process.

OK - SO... did your son's portal change? Was there perhaps a PDF copy of the TWE posted on the Home page like they do with all other communications? Or changes on the Overview page? That's the nugget of info I'd really like to find!
Best of luck to your son next time - :thumb:

Thanks for the info mom3boys. So sorry to hear your DS received one. I'm thinking that is our fate at this late date. Great to hear the RC gave him constructive information to process in the event he decides to reapply. This process is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.

Raseo1Son:

USMA TWE in mail. For 2 weeks now: No portal change, no PDF copy of the TWE posted on the Home page, no changes on the Overview page.

However, to my knowledge, USMA did not have the April 15th "hear by" date like USNA did; they state that offers can go out into June. So, although most TWE/BFE's have gone out...your DS may still be in the running.

Thanks, Aveon!

That's what I was looking for - it seems a little surprising just because USMA does post a LOT more info on the portal than USNA does. And earlier in the process when we received a letter it was also posted on the portal as a PDF.

As far as the 4/15 deadline - from what I understand, USNA had until that date to notify everyone, but USMA used that day as the acceptance deadline for those who received offers of Appointment in the first wave. Then at that point, admissions would have a better idea how many more were needed to round out the class.

Thanks again - best of luck!
