Hello everyone,

I've heard mixed opinions on this. Can anyone provide information as to whether more importance is placed on test scores or GPA/class rank in the admissions process (and approximately how much weight each counts for)? Will great test scores compensate for a lacking average?

Is it true that the Academy will combine your highest SAT math with your highest ACT English and vice versa?

In addition, how are a school's graduation/college matriculation rate or other characteristics taken into account in the admissions process?

Thank you so much for your responses! :thumb:

Test scores are weighted the most out of any criteria in admissions, class rank is higher than GPA though.

This is true.

Your school profile is requested for a reason, being at the top of a strong school is better than the same rank at a worse school.

Like SuaSponte already said, class rank is more important than GPA. Schools want to see how you compare to your peers. I know for my high school, the GPA is on a 4.25 scale, but that will change to a 4.0 scale for all current and future freshmen. So when I got a 4.3167 this 3rd quarter, I looked like a genius, but I'm not
