Citadel has "a few" 3 year scholarships

My ds got an email that The Citadel has a few 3 year AD scholarships just given to them. They want to know if my ds is still attending in August so that he could be "considered" for one of these. I assume this means that there will be others also considered for one of these? How often does this happen?

It's not that uncommon for some battalions to have 3 year scholarships available.

You assume correctly, they will be looking at all those that are coming that did not receive a scholarship, It is a good sign however that they made contact with your son. Best of luck to him.

If the student has an interest in attending The Citadel, I would respond positively promptly. The Fall Class is likely to be less then last several years (around 750) and there are already 807 accepted applicants that have paid their deposits. Typically a number of accepted do not show up - but to secure a place the student needs to act promptly. Good luck.
