No nomination and no TWE?

DS was triple qualified but was unable to attain a nomination in our competitive district. He has not received a TWE although, of course, it would seem that he is out of the running for any sort of nomination, including a Vice Presidential nom at this point. Is anyone else in the same situation? Why no TWE yet? Thanks in advance for any light anyone might be able to shed on this situation.

Not making excuses for RCs, but more than likely an administrative oversight to not send TWE (hopefully I am wrong). Best to contact the RC to get a straight answer.

My DS is in the same situation as Sportsmom4. Cannot get a response from RC. Sportsmom and I have wondered for a while why no TWE or info is forthcoming...

What does the candidate's portal indicate? Any noms? I'm thinking the non-traditional noms will show up on the portal.

DS received response today from admissions rep that, since he never received a nom, his file was considered incomplete and was never reviewed and, therefore, he would never receive a TWE. He had applied for a VP nom and was hoping for that even though he knew the odds were against that happening. It's good just to know that WP is no longer an option. Time to move on and that is just what he will do!

Wow....that's rough. It seems to me that any candidate that completes the entire application process (despite not receiving a nom) is worthy of a form letter (TWE) advising him/her that they were unfortunately not selected. JMPO....

My son received a letter (maybe email?) from USNA stating that since his file was not completed, it was considered closed. He also applied to AFA, no nom...no notice. We assumed there'd be no word, since he didn't have all the required elements (nom).

You stated in the OP that your DS was 3Q, but here that his file was not reviewed. He couldn't be 3Q if his file wasn't reviewed. It might have been completed, but that is not the same.

The SA are pretty clear on the requirements for admissions and needing all the components. Would you expect any other college to review your application (that you paid for in most cases), but did not complete, and then expect them to send a letter saying that you did not get in knowing it was not complete?

Any of the early qualifications (medical, academic and physical, or the 3Q) are just a courtesy to 1) help keep interest through a long application process and 2) a way to keep unnecessary "file status" questions down until the nominations start coming in and appointments are offered.
