Transfer between Maritimes

Hello - thought I'd post this question here since it seems posts about the Maritime Academies are less frequent than other military colleges. Does anyone have experience with transferring between Maritimes? DS just finished freshman year at Mass Maritime and found the weekends difficult because a lot of students were from nearby and went home for the weekends ('home' for him is a 6 hour drive to NJ). A peak at SUNY's website gives some good info, but the difference in training cruises (winter at Mass, summer at SUNY) could be an issue. DS intends to major in Marine Transportation (Deck). Any advice would be appreciated.

As long as there are no academic issues transferring is not an issue. Also depending on where you reside you might be eligible for regional tuition at SUNY Maritime.
