Still no word from the NAPS waitlist. We need to purchase airline tickets to take my son to Florida Tech and the rates keep going up as we sit here and wait for a decision. Has anyone heard anything from NAPS? I feel as though they have chosen who they want and are waiting for some "no's" or kids to change their mind before sending us the TWE. On the other hand I feel that I should purchase the tickets because as soon as I do, they will send an offer and I won't need them. Would be my luck that I spend $1000 only to find out I don't need the tickets.......sure way to get him in!

Sorry I don't know anything about the NAPS waitlist, but I have an idea about your airplane situation. First off, I'm not an expert of Florida Geography so this idea might sound alot better on paper than actual practice. But you could book a Southwest flight since they refund you if you end up not needing the tickets. The down side is that the closest Southwest airport to Florida Tech I believe is Orlando so you would have to take a rental car to the campus.

This way if you get the news that your son made it into NAPS you can get your refund, but if not then you don't have to wait until last minute prices on airfare. Like I said, if there's someone from Florida that knows that this isn't the best idea then please say something.

Our plan is to use Southwest. I did not know they offered a refund. We were just planning on possibly going for spring break if we got stuck with them. Thanks for the info.

Southwest is used by a lot of USNA families and their mids for the ease of changing your tickets. Your future mids will find that they sometimes have to change the date of their flights due to changes of their schedules. The other benefit is the two free bags that are offered for each passenger. Every year when our mid flies home from USNA for Christmas break there are always a few other mids flying in on his flight. How would I know? For the first two years they are required to wear their uniforms to and from USNA, and so they are easy to spot.

My DS received his TWE last Friday so final answers are going out. You may need to contact your BGO and see if he knows any information. He may see on his side sooner than you get the answer in the mail. Good Luck to you either way.

Prices went up more today so we bought tickets to florida on southwest......if he gets in to NAPS we might just vacation to Florida. Is our 20 year anniversary anyway. Go Navy!

Anything Nollie? We are still keeping tabs on you waitlister :) hang tough!

Nothing yet. Reading posts from last year the last of the TWE's were received on July 15th. With no news yet I would assume that will be the caste for us, but we still hold on to hope until we actually see the envelope.
