Does anybody have any insight on HS senior AP courses? My DS was picking up his schedule for the new school year earlier today. Due to a scheduling conflict, he had to switch to AP Physics from his originally scheduled AP Physics C. He is taking AP BC Calculus.
I do not know how to advise him on whether this is that big of a deal or push harder to keep Physics C at the expense of other needed classes.

From a simply logistical/non-USAFA perspective, the Physics C and Calculus tandem makes the best sense. It would be better for him to take those together academically. I have no empirical evidence to support the following statement, but it seems unlikely to me that USAFA would make a significant differentiation (pun intended) between AP Physics C and AP Physics in regards to the recalculating of his GPA. It probably would have little, if any impact on his WCS.

If it was my son asking, I would advise him to see if it was possible to get into AP Physics C, but that it is not a hill to die on. However, if your DS is not interested in being a Physics or Engineering major, then he should be fine with AP Physics. PM me if you would like to chat further.
