I received my letter of assurance in the mail today.
Could people respond to this thread if they've received LOAs?

Congrats!

Congratulations on your LOA!

Do you care to share some info, i.e. when did you completed your USMA application, what were your test scores and other notable accomplishments, leadership, athletic activities, etc.

Job well done.

Job well done.

I went to SLE and my portal opened on 1 July, completed it around the end of August. My LOA was dated 29 August.

SAT: 2230 - 750 CR, 710 M, 770 W
Athletics: Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor track since freshman year, varsity letters for all since freshman year, all-state in all but one of my events, varsity co-captain for all three

Other stuff: NHS, student body vice president, class secretary, government club vice pres, have been an assistant teacher at a local language school for a while, bilingual, have taught and fundraised overseas, had a mentorship at a marine science institute and devised an award winning research project my junior year

Thanks for sharing your info. Keep up the hard work.

Congrats again!

That's great! Congratulations!

Still a few more steps to complete the package!

Bubble wrap for the rest of the year! haha

My DD received an LOA last week. Completed one nom app, finishing up other two. USMA app not quite completed yet. She played varsity volleyball & softball since freshman year ( went to USMA volleyball camp this summer but their roster is full). Captain of both teams this year, SATs math-740, reading-650, writing -690. ACT 31. Weighted GPA 4.53. Student government, relay for life, special Olympics coach and volunteer, 5 AP classes this year( physics, bio, calc, Spanish, English.) wants engineering. Was awarded the Dwight D Eisenhower leadership award last spring from the West Point Society of NJ. She had her dodmerb physical yesterday. Going for overnight visit next week. Still all very surreal as it wasn't until she went up in April to receive award that she absolutely knew this was where she wanted to be. Good luck to all. And thank you for this forum- I have found it so helpful thus far

I received my LOA last week and it was dated September 10th. I've been qualified by DODMERB passed my CFA. I don't want to disclose personal info for sake of privacy, but if you have personal questions for me, I would be willing to answer them if you message me. Good luck to everyone in the application process!

LOA

Congratulations to all that have received LOA's for the class of 2019! What an accomplishment!
These questions might have been answered already and if these are duplicate questions, please accept my apologies/newness to this forum. Does an LOA come in Email or US mail format? If you don't receive an LOA is admission still possible?

hopeforarmy19, most people are accepted without an LOA, and I'm pretty sure it is sent in the mail.

Received Aug 29

Hi I am new to the forum. I am happy to say my son received his LOA on 8/29- we were so surprised as I understood most don't go out until October. He passed the CFA and found out also passed Medical this week.

I am curious, when we will get the final god bless he's accepted? Anyone in the past get LOAs and know the time frame from past years? We feel so honored and blessed and PROUD of our son!

Proud Class of 2019 mom

Class2019-
Welcome to the forum and congratulations to your son for receiving a LOA!

He will need a nomination before he receives an appointment.
West Point generally waits until the application deadline (28 FEB) to award appointments. But, in the past, some appointments have gone out sooner.
With a LOA and a nom, you might see an appointment in January.

Just got an LOA!

Hey, I just got an LOA yesterday. I am from California. It feels great!

LOA = Letter of Assurance = if fully qualified (academic, medical, and physical) with a nomination you will be offered admission.

LOE = Letter of Encouragement = you are a highly competitive candidate who could be offered admission if fully qualified with a nomination. That offer likely will not come until near or after the file completion deadline, so to help you make a quicker decision, they offer an overnight visit opportunity now (normally only for admitted or LOA candidates).

I received an LOA last Saturday, October 18th, and I got it verified yesterday after gawking at it for a few days. I also got an LOE Through the online portal earlier this month too, but the LOA was via snail mail

Would a letter of assurance help when interviewing for nominations?
West Point is my number one choice but I also have an LOA from the Naval Academy. I'm worried that I might receive a nomination for the Naval Academy instead of West Point... probably a dumb worry but still, is it likely that that could happen?
