I've read that in the past, there was a status change shown on the DODMERB website for the approapriate agency if an LOA or an Appointment is offered. I've seen where some candidates have posted that they learned that their LOA or Appointment is forthcoming via the DODMERB site. Does anyone know if this is still true? Do the academies inform DODMERB before they inform the candidate/MOC or is this just a past practice?

That loop closed and ended years ago when MullenLE was still here. He works for DoDMERB; created the help desk, and back 5-6 years ago on the DoDEMERB website it would show up as Appointee or scholarship recipient about 24-48 hours prior to the official notification.

Due to budget constraints pre/post sequestration, DoDMERB exams have changed. Prior to sequestration exams were given at a much faster pace. Now it appears to me that the commissioning source plays the chicken game.

IOWS, the source will be charged for the exam, but if another source orders it, they can get the results.
I.E. ROTC scholarship candidates that do not apply to an SA will most likely not get the order for an exam until awarded a scholarship, BUT if an SA candidate applies for a scholarship. ROTC can pick it up

Either way don't play Snoopy over the dog bowl to see if you are going to get an appointment or scholarship. Only be Snoopy to see if you got Q, Remedial or DQ?

Great reply. Thanks Pima!
Sitting on a "Qualified" for both academies applied to. Guess we'll be happy with that and join waiting game at the mailbox.
