Kind of suprised that they came out this early. Congrats to those who found out today, another step in the journey!:thumb:

And then there was an error in the lists so USAFA took a few days to make sure the lists from AFPC were accurate and then we all got to see our (mostly) happy firsties with their rated slots today. They've waited over three years for it, I think they survived the weekend haha

They were due out on Sept 18.

Thank you! Another step down the road.

I was not aware of this years release date. I was going off my recollections of the last 3 years. As I am getting older, my memory may not be what used to be! I was pleasantly suprised when our DD called that she got her pilot slot.

The reason rated slots came out so early is because of the new "all in" rated policy. Those with rated slots now have a week to decide whether or not they're happy with their AFSC, if not, they'll receive a non rated slot later in the year.

Any word on how many non-pilot rated slots were given out yesterday?

No idea....anecdotally, though, my squad had 11 go for rated, and all 11 got pilot.

Now the new hurry up and wait game...which base and report date!

Congrats to all!

Huh?

Did I miss something? Is the AFA now placing their cadets into the force reshaping board and placing them up for Reserve/Guard options like AFROTC? When did the AFA cadets have to meet the AD board?

I thought that, yet you never know...walk away for 2-3 days and that thread could drop to the bottom.

Now to me, I would say to the AFA cadets....the waiting begins to find out Fellowships/AFIT and follow on to UPT or the how long they will be casual status making coffee in the squadrons until they start UPT/IFS.
~ Fencers DS at LAFB as casual for 9 months before attending IFS. Stealths DS did not start UPT for 8 months.

Although the AF needs to speed up the pipeline because they know that commercial airlines will be hiring at insane rate in 2 or 3 years, the latest drops out of UPT bases are samples classes than they were 6 months ago at this time.
~ Fencers and our DS winged April 26th. 20 ADAF students winged out of Laughlin, this does not include foreign or Guard/Reserve. They had one international student. The latest drop was 11.
~ Columbus's latest drop was 7.

If they don't speed up the UPT pipeline I would think that AFA grads will be waiting a year on average before going to IFS or UPT.

No flaming...it is my guess

Some of the new 2nd Lts that graduated with my daughter in May 2014 from AFROTC have already finished IFS and reported for their UPT class. Perhaps the pipeline is speeding up?

I think they survived it also. However, deciding that there was "an error in the lists" after releasing the names to the AOCs and advising the cadets that the results would be released the next day.....just embarrassing.

I love love love to hear about the "trades" and "swaps". One of my sons was one of those traders and we were shocked that he did that.

Actually the results were sent to the AOCs on September 17 and emails went out to cadets that evening advising they would be released the next day - September 18.

That may be true, but they were scheduled to be released between September 18 - 22.

No offense Dad, but honestly who cares about the point if it was 9/17 or 18 or 19?

ENJOY the moment, because trust me....Flieger, Bullet, Stealth, Fencer ànd myself can tell you harder days are coming!

UPT is NOT all academics! You can be book smart, but that has nothing to do with handling the stick.

Let's enjoy this moment in their sun and wish the best to the rated cadets of 2015! Let us now argue about the drop date!
