My scores have been haunting me ever since I got them in July.

I'm retaking the SAT again this October. I just took the ACT last Saturday, but I don't feel confident about it so I don't know how my results will look...
My recruiter told me to send them to the Naval Academy already. I told him I got a terrible 1450, but he was said my score was good. I also told him I taking it again and he said the most I could get the second time is 1600 :( So, should I just submit them and then just submit my new scores later once they're released?

Submit all scores. My DS took the SAT 3 times and the ACT 3 times.USNA super scores. They want to see commitment. You can and will do better each time.Stay positive!

Umm well a recruiter (for enlisted) is going to have lower standards, that's just how it is. I went up 170 points from my 1st to 2nd try, and I didn't even study (not recommended!!!)

I hope you did well on your ACT. I had very low SAT scores as well but I took the ACT for the first time in June and my score was significantly higher in comparison to the SAT. Also, tutoring will help improve your scores. Good luck!

I think based on this comment the recruiter was thinking that your 1450 was a 2-part score (Math and CR only) which are the only 2 sections the board looks at. This is why he said that the highest score you could get was 1600 (800/section). If he had thought you meant all 3 parts on your score he would have said 2400 was the highest score you could get.

None-the-less, you can wait to see if you did better on the ACT (my DS did) and then submit that score. If you didn't, just submit all of your scores, and study to increase it next go around.. Hopefully, you are already registered to take the tests again next time.

Take the ACT ASAP. Some do better on one than the other. Those scores may be in NAPSland but there's time left to show improvement so make it your job to improve.

Best of luck

Ohhh that makes sense. I just told him my total score. He simply laughed when I told him I wasn't satisfied with my results. In my mind, I was like "Are you serious?!" . Thanks for that input :)

SAT vs. ACT

I have already finished my application to USNA, submitting two SAT scores. I recently received my ACT score from the test earlier this month, which I sent to USNA 9/26/14. I have heard all different things about what USNA does with SAT and ACT scores (whether or not they take either test, and if the review board considers only one or both tests when looking at your package). Does anyone have any information about that?

They take both tests. See here: http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/Steps-for-Admission/index.php
