DD received a 4 year scholarship to her top 3 schools. Her top school is UF. She received an email the other day from them stating 14 students on the first board got scholarships. If you are on this board would love to hear from you and where your from. Congratulations to all who received scholarships and to everybody else , good luck . It truly sounds like everybody on this site is deserving of a scholarship.

Hello there!

My DS also received the scholarship to the University of Florida! He is still deciding between UF and one other school, so we will have to wait a little longer and see what he is picking. We live in Maryland. Congratulations on the scholarship!

My DD also just received a 4 yr scholarship to UF. It is her top choice although won't be confirmed unitl we hear from all schools by mid-Feb. We live in Charlotte, NC now but I was a Gator too. No, I did not influence her choice!

Dosent sound like any gator influence to me. Lol. How will you be able to wait til February. Dont they have to know within 30 days, of what school you intend on going to

Your correct about the 30 day acceptance deadline.

gatormom,

Make sure your daughter accepts her scholarship withing that 30 day period, she will have to make a school selection with the acceptance. She can apply for a transfer to a different school after she hears back from all the schools she has applied to, just realize that a transfer is not a guarantee. Make sure you and her read the scholarship award carefully and understand the process for transfers.

The biggest thing, don't miss that 30 day deadline to accept or she will lose the scholarship.

DD has decided to accept the scholarship to UF even though she hasnt been accepted yet. Tough decision because her #2 school has aleady accepted her with a merit scholarship also. Sure hope UF pulls through for her.

Your daughter might want to make contact with the ROO at UF and let them know she is accepting to their school. Tell them that she has not yet been accepted and see if they can offer any assistance or advice. It may not be a bad idea to let UF admissions know that she has been given the ROTC Scholarship. The fact that the Army pays the full rack rate for tuition is appealing to many schools.

Thanks for the advise. The roo sent her an email asking what her intentions are. He said he will help with the process. Hopefully he can help speed up the acceptance process. UF doesnt do early acceptance, they normally let applicants know some time in February.

Hopefully the ROO does pull through...I received an AFROTC scholarship and was rejected from UF, which surprises me, it would seem anyone good enough to get a scholarship could get into UF, but I digress...tough to get in, but great school, everyone I know there loves it, best luck to your daughter!

Akrogan, when did you apply, were you a fl resident. Were you able to transfer your scholarship. Sorry for all the question. Just want daughter to make the right decision.

AF Scholarships are good at any school that has an AFROTC Det. there is no requirement to transfer the scholarship, you just go where you were accepted.

I applied near the beginning of when the UF application was availible, and I am a Florida resident. In terms of the scholarship, I received an Air Force ROTC scholarship, which is not tied to any particular school, I just took it elsewhere.

Thanks for info on afrotc, did not know that about there scholarships would be nice if they all did that. Will just have to keep fingers crossed until we find out about her application. Just hope they dont make us wait til February. Would also like to take a second to thank all those who have posted out there. DD and I have been reading for at least a year now and have learned so much. THANK YOU ALL

DD will be accepting her NROTC scholarship and hopefully we will not have to request a transfer. I don't think there is anyway to speed up acceptance decsion by UF so we wait until Feb.for final decisions
