I got a phone call today from my Congresswoman informing me that I got her principal nomination to USMA! I won't name her for security purposes, but she represents my district in New York State. I am incredibly excited because I am now guaranteed a slot at West Point as long as I stay qualified.

I want to thank the members of this forum, which I have been using for years throughout this whole process, on helping me achieve my goal. It is an honor and a privilege to be called to serve this country. I hope for the best for all of the candidates who are still awaiting word, and I look forward to the opportunity of serving with you.

Go Army!

Congrats!! :bounce1::jump1: This emoticon is synonymous to how I felt when I received my LOA haha

Congratulations

Best of Luck...Hope you play football!

What security purposes are you concerned with? Identifying your district might help better inform other posters from New York of their chances and could encourage someone to pursue their Plan B now versus scrambling in a few months.

Do you know the factors in which the Principal Nomination was awarded to you?

This may help others know in your district for future reference.

Has your congress person done this in the past?

One should always be pursuing plan B. There should never be a reason to scramble.

The congressman might have listed him/her online. If he says the district they can find his name and info possibly, not too dangerous but you never know!

To answer the security question, the MoC's staffer requested that I don't post anything about the nomination on Facebook. I don't have a Facebook so that wasn't a problem, but obviously their office doesn't want people knowing that they are making decisions already for some reason, or the results of their decisions for that matter. I am not saying the MoC's name to respect that request.

And to answer cga82, the only reason that I was awarded the principle nom. was because of my "outstanding application," to quote the MoC. I presume they found me to be the best overall andidate this year. Also, I know that this MoC has awarded principals in the past because I know one the former recipients.

I hope that clears things up.
