MSIII Cumulative Exam - 6
Academic Discipline - 4
Command Interest Items - 5

Leadership Outcomes - 35%
PMS Recommendations - 25
ROTC Teams/Extracurricular - 5
Language/CULP - 5

Physical Outcomes - 15%
Fall Record APFT - 6.5
Spring Record APFT - 6.5
Intramural,club, community sports - 2

Also If you are going to be an MSV and went to LDAC Last summer you WILL BE attending CST this summer to take the MAT,CLA, and MSIII Final Exam.

Son attended a Briefing this morning and this is what was presented.

Looks like those cadets that attended LDAC this past summer but will be DEC15 Grads, or later, will have to make the trip over the summer back to Ft. Knox to take all the tests and will be branched under the new OML. I wonder how their LDAC scores will work into that equation. Seems to me it would be much more cost effective to have these cadets take the tests at their Battalion, sure would save a lot in just airfare.

Please explain Academic Discipline and Command Interest Items

Don't know if ECP son will have to do this this summer or the summer before he actually accesses?

Please explain Academic Discipline and Command Interest Items

If I understood correctly, Academic Discipline refers to the ADM number for the cadets major. An ADM 4 and 3 get more points. I also hears that the max score for cadets in an ADM 1 or 2 major is 97 points. What I don't understand is if those with an ADM of 3 or 4 will be graded out of 100 points and also receive the extra point listed above. I think that the advice for non STEM majors is that they better have a GPA of 3.5 or higher if they want a shot at AD, either that or ace those tests.

As far as the Command Interest Items, I'm not sure what that means, seems like a catch all phrase to me.

To be honest, I asked my son a few of these questions and his response was....Dad I've branched, I really didn't stick around for the Q&A, non of the 4's did.

Hopefully some of the current MS3's will chime in with some more detailed info.

I'm not entirely sure what all is included in the Command Interest Items, but one thing that was mentioned by the CG during a brief earlier this year was that one example of the interest items was Toastmasters, or giving a brief to another organization on campus or other public speaking things. I don't know how any of that will be scored or what else is included as an interest item, but one big push now is more public speaking experience.

From listening to my son's, this would be a great idea. Neither of my son's had much of an issue because they both had to take a couple communications classes as part of their major. They both said that there were always a group of cadets that could barely give any presentation without stumbling over their words.

Wow, DS is going to be delighted to hear that he has to go back to Knox after already completing LDAC last summer. What are CLA and MAT anyway?

I like it too. There are many cadets (and then officers) that can barely function in front of a group or crowd.

MAT - Miller Analogies Test
CLA - Collegiate Learning Assessment

My son's PMS has said a lot of battalions are checking to see if the tests can be given at the battalion. I would imagine that CC wants to have a controlled test environment. I hope they can figure something out, it seems like a big cost to send the cadets back to Ft. Knox.

So they trust that the schools can give the APFT just fine (probably the most subjective of the tests), but not these standardized tests. Ok. I'd save the cash on the completion cadets. But in the interest of fairness.....

Language points-is that proficiency in any language or only high demand languages?

High demand languages approved by the Army. Fluent in French (and others) will just get you a pat on the back.
