Afrotc interview question

Hello,

I have my interview upcoming and it says: "You will need to bring a copy of the resume you submitted to HQ AFROTC with your original application."

I never submitted a resume or maybe I'm not understand what she is asking. I uploaded my transcript/counselor form (GPA), PFT, and SAT/ACT. I also entered in my activities/EC's on the Activities Sheet. What exactly am I printing? Do I bring my own resume? Please help me.

This was really tricky for me, but through a ton of research, I finally interpreted it as: bring a typed paper of your most important EC's, honors/distinctions, and work experience with a BRIEF description of each. Try to get it to be one page, but I do not know if that's a requirement.

I focused on sports and Scouting as well as my most time intensive school activities, but that is up to the individual.

I also brought a longer list of every activity and honor, but that was not necessary.

I brought in a copy of my resume which included the activities/ECs I submitted online as well as awards, jobs and community service. For my interview personally the Captain who interviewed me looked over that resume and asked me questions about certain things that I had listed.

I had my interview this September and I printed a screen shot of the activities page on the application portal. So I had the screen shot of my EC and activities page AND I had a resume that I made for the interview. I asked the officer which one he wanted and he said the resume only. He talked about how he thought it was silly AFROTC website tells you to take a copy of something you put on the website as he can already see that. He wants to see the additional resume. So bring in both just to be safe!

Here is what I have so far:

1. Education (GPA, School Name, Years, Graduation Date)
2. Employment (Jobs (2))
3. Awards, Honors, Membership (CSF, etc)
4. Experiences (Volunteer, leadership positions, etc)
5. Skills/Relevant High School Studies (4 languages, computers, etc)

Is that good enough or do I need object and references? Thanks.

That is fine. Just make sure you place it in bullet format, with each new section title bolded

I agree with Pima. They certainly aren't going to contact any references you list so why bother?

In addition to the above, DS included:
His SAT/ACT scores under education, class rank if you know it as well as important classes taked. e.g., science(4 yrs) math(4 yrs including calc) etc.
Sports with years played at varsity level if any and any captain/co-captain
Employment-any increases in responsibility/promotions and hours per week worked
Club EC leadership positions held

Did not include any references on his resume.

Hope that helps and good luck. Go in there knowing WHY you are interviewing and what you want out of a career with USAF. Also be prepared to answer what you bring the the USAF. Why you would be a good leader of the men and women that would serve under you.

Always remember that you will serve based on the needs of the air force so if you say I'm gonna be a pilot and don't get a rated pilot slot, what then? Not everyone gets to be a pilot...or gets the slot they thought they wanted. Be prepared to answer that question.

There are many threads with type of questions you may see. My son's NROTC interview was the hardest interview he said he's ever had. Very professional, very thorough with thought provoking questions. He was prepared and thinks he did well.

I agree with MJP regarding the rated question.

It is okay to say I want to go rated, but be prepared to answer what is your plan B if not selected.

If you place SAT/ACT than place best sitting. AFROTC does not super score.
~ àyou place 31...chances are they will ask is, Is your best sitting or super score? If 29 is best sitting than that is what they will use.
~~ I would place super score and best sitting.

When they ask any questions.

If this is your number one college ask what the cgpa and % elected for SFT. It tells them you know that SFT is the make or break.
