My DS is fully qualified and has received two LOE's. He completed his final nomination interview last week.

When should he expect to hear regarding whether or not he got a nomination?

Very stressful time...

If your DS would email his Congressman's/Senator's academy coordinator and ask they should be able to tell you. I've heard back within a few days with one, but I've also waited for almost a month for another. Just depends.

Getting 2 LOEs is usually a mistake. It may have prevented someone else from getting one.
As for nominations I just asked my nomination sources,

MOC have to submit their slates to admissions by the end of January, but most do it before then. He should hear from his MOC by mail or phone or both anytime between now and then.

Not sure why your DS received two LOEs -- it's a good sign but not a guarantee of appointment. And I disagree with the poster above -- your DS getting 1 (or even 2) LOE(s) does not take away from anyone else, so don't worry there.

I think sometimes the LOE's differ slightly in wording. The first one might be before the application is complete encouraging the candidate to do so and the second after the file has been qualified. The second one says something to the effect of "keep updating your file and pursuing a nomination."

My got his first LOE in September before he had submitted his CFA. He got his second LOE in October along with a call from the admission officer encouraging him to submit his CFA. He finally was able to take the CFA in November (after football season ended) and did an overnight the week before Thanksgiving. Last week he got his 3Q letter in his portal. He is hearing all of the right things from West Point but nothing from his nominating sources. I will have him contact both of his Senators and Congressman about a decision time. Thanks for the feedback.
