I have a 3.7 gpa, yet on my USAFA application it states my gpa is 3.98; is this some sort of a glitch and/or does the gpa benefit me in any way?

Not a glitch.

Per the admissions portal: " (Your GPA listed may be refigured by USAFA and may not match the GPA reported by your school.)"

It may have changed based on your strength of schedule or having a 7 pt grading scale (93-100) vice a 10 point scale.

Nope, I have around a 3.3 but they changed to a 3.56, I believe. I think they have their own grading system, like extra weight if you took AP/honors courses. 3.98 is awesome though, be proud! :thumb:

Will USAFA not show your GPA as above a 4.0? My unweighted GPA is currently a 4.1 but unweighted is 4.0, and on my portal it shows that it is 4.0. Just curious if they use only unweighted or if there are other factors involved such as my school's curriculum or something.

Nope, just like was brought up earlier, USAFA only lists your unweighted GPA. So, in other words, it's not possible for your GPA to be over 4.0 on that scale. It's pretty much their way of comparing applicants on the same scale.

Usafa has a profile of your school, and they use this to convert your gpa. This way, they are comparing everyone on an even field since some schools may be harder than others.

I submitted my GPA in August and I've taken every AP course I can at my school which is like 10 yet they never changed my GPA from a 3.5 which is completely raw with no boost points. Should I request that it be reconfigured?

This is probably due to the strength/size of your school and the matriculation of your school. Sometimes being a big fish in a little pond isn't necessarily as impressive (even if it's beyond your control)

If you have taken 10 AP classes then it should at least show in your class rank. I go to a not so great high school and have a friend also applying who took 1/2 the AP classes so he has a higher raw GPA but my class rank is significantly higher.

I got you. Ya I'm in the top 5 percent of my class. I talked my liaison officer after I posted the question, and he said that they go by class rank, not GPA. Strive for the top 20 % at least is the rule of thumb. Plus I have 2000 sat/act so I think I'm good. It's just getting down to the wire and one can go slightly crazy. Haha [emoji16]

Thank you.

Amen to that! It's hard NOT to go crazy right now, when our lifelong dreams are on the line!!!
