USMA is DD's first choice. She has a great backup plan as she already has an appointment from another SA which she received several weeks ago via an LOA, nomination and then finally appointment. DD was going to send in an update on some school and athletic achievements to USMA admissions. Is it advisable to tell them about her appointment to the other SA or is that a nonfactor to them?

It won't hurt. It lets them know about other actions.... but I don't think USMA will say "roll out the LOA" too.
If I'm an admissions officer, I'd appreciate that information. If USMA is her top choice, you can say that too.
"USMA is still my top choice, but I did want to let you know what I recently also received an LOA from...."

The admissions guys are likely already aware of your LOA.
How would USMA admissions know about an LOA or appointment that a candidate has received from another SA?

Admissions officers often talk to MOCs, and occasionally to one another.
