It is difficult to scan the new format to pick out the latest posts. How about making the date and time of the latest post very bold and clear under the poster's name over on the right-hand side? Many thanks in advance.

If you go to the top of the page and hit "mark forums read", that will mark all current posts as read by you (assuming you don't need/want to read any of them ). Then only hit "new posts" and there will be no scanning required - all new entries since your last visit will be displayed.

The format is very similar to many message boards and works well. I would echo Jcc123's post on how to see new threads on this board.

The new format is very bad. Just my opinion.

Can you provide specific thoughts?

Some things are customizable so based on feedback there is a chance we can make improvements/changes, but generic statements aren't too helpful in our quest for improvement.

New format comment: I found the ability to see new "profile" posts interesting but in looking at the posts I wonder if those posting intended for them to be public. I am sure I could have gotten to them by going into a person's profile under the old system but this new option makes it easy. In reading some of these, it seems people were using it as a type of personal PM-type communication tool and didn't realize it was accessible to all. I saw names linked to screennames and personal information that I assume the original poster didn't want public. This is all conjecture of course. But people should be warned that these profile posts are not private just as the forum posts are not.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In both software systems, profile posts have always been publicly available, whereas private messages are for one on one communication. As such, if there is personal information posted, we will review it upon request for possible removal.

Thank you for mentioning this. I'll be Adding it to our new software information thread. With the change in software, everyone should mark all posts as read so they can see posts at are actually new.

As KP stated, we're very interested in actionable feedback areas as we seek to improve our user experience. We want to provide the best experience possible and I plan to make changes as necessary over the coming days and weeks.

Current changes that I'll be looking into and addressing where possible:

Separate sticky and normal threads
Remove italics from quoted text
Allow nested quotes
Update the new software thread with pointers and information
Increase font size
Change font type

I love it. It's going to take some time to get use to the new format, but it's "fun."

The "Home" and "Forums" tabs seem to be the same thing.

Much easier to monitor forums of interest. I also like the red flags for incoming messages and PM's. Much easier for old folks like me to see!

If you go to the top of the page and click on "New Posts" you will see everything new since your last visit. Just wanted to comment to those updating/making the changes that I like this feature. You do have to look closely at which "forum" you're in (ie AF, ROTC, etc), but since I like to read the questions/answers to multiple forums, this works for me. I'm not sure if this feature was available when you wrote your message.

My only complaint is the top border. The white against the pale blue border is hard to view easily...maybe it might be my age! Changing the font color there to red might make it pop more. I say this because that is where the search forum link is, and as many of us know, very few new posters ever use that and the forum becomes inundated with repetitive posts on the same subject. If it popped maybe some would use it.

I see that you can "Like" posts now, which I do like. But do those "Likes" show up to everyone that views a post I have "Liked"? Just curious, but I think it's a nice feature instead of me replying to a post with "+1" or something. Do Likes affect this point system, or what really is the points thing I see is new?

I think the new software is pretty nice. I don't really enjoy it right now since I've never been on a forum with this software, but I think it'll be great once I get used to it.

I had a red "Alerts(1)" at the top of the page this morning. When I clicked on it, it showed that someone "liked" my post. It also shows up under your Avatar (along with Joined date, # of Messages, Likes Received). Not sure if it shows up anywhere else.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. The "Home" and "Forums" tabs do go the same place, but for now I'm going to leave them both because "Home" is probably more familiar to everyone.

Very swanky!!! Approve. :)

Thank you for the positive feedback.

Thank you for the feedback about the top border text. I've added this to our New Software Change Requests thread.

The new "Likes" system allows you to like posts, and you can see who liked a post you made in your profile.

Not a format issue per se, but is it possible to add a new sticky on the ROTC forum. It would be great if you added an Interview sticky. It comes up quite frequently and instead of reiterating the same information over and over again, posters can direct them to the sticky.

Granted I am sure many posters/lurkers will not notice it or may decide to ignore it, but at least it would be there.
