Haven't heard back from my representative yet, I am curious to see how the rest of TN is doing.

We're District 7 and were told by our FFR that letters were mailed today. Don't know about Senators.

District 8 hasn't heard either. The office said letters would be out by the end of the week. Two months for Senator interviews and a month for Congressional is a long time to wait.

We are in District 01 and our daughter got her Nom just before Thanksgiving. She emailed Corker's office on Tuesday and they said that they would be sending out letters at the end of the month; I would imagine Alexander's office is the same. What I don't know (or haven't found/asked about) is whether TN allows multiple nominations, I know several states do not so once you have one from your Rep then that puts you out of the pool for a Senatorial. Again, I don't know if this is the case here in TN. All of this is a HUGE lesson in tenacity and patience... that's for sure! Good luck to everyone!...

Just want to clarify- hers was to USAFA but I believe Roe sent them out for all Service Academies at the same time since candidates from other SAs were there for interviews when my daughter had hers.

You will only get one from Alexander or you will get one from corker. Not both, they have a conference call so they don't double nominate candidates.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Do you know if they will nominate if the candidate already has one from their Rep?
Yes they will. The reason for the senators is that (most likely) all top candidates would be the same on the 10 slots so instead they get roughly the top 20 from TN, usually ending up with 3+ candidates accepted from each pool sometimes even 9. So you can get one from your rep and your senator, good luck!

I hear TN08 and 07 are the most competitive, is that true?

Thank you! This is quite the process for sure! People look at me like I'm crazy when I start explaining it! Thank goodness she's taking it all in stride! Keeping fingers (and toes) crossed!

I believe that is correct. I think there was talk about it when she was at summer seminar. I do know that someone from TN06 was appointed (to USAFA) on the 9th, but that's the only one from TN I've seen so far. Although I'm sure the vast majority aren't posting on forums.

I'm well above average in every area but extremely nervous because of how competitive my district is. It's nerve racking not getting the benefit of ranked slots! I hear that my district usually sends more than 1 though so that's good. Hoping all the nominated candidates can go, but that's just overly hopeful. Hopefully a lot of TN residents will get in this year!

I wish the senators office had them in quicker to ease my nerves but it's not far away! They are probably very busy.

Yes, a nerve-wracking process no doubt. Hang in there, hopefully TN will be well represented at all of the service academies!

Anyone hear back yet? Hoping that senators will have 2 slots open this year..

From the way it sounded when I emailed them they seemed very busy, I think they will probably submit it at the end of the month or on the deadline of January 31st. You honestly can't blame them for being busy, after all they are doing us a favor in a way.

Yep. That's what Corker's office told my daughter last week when she emailed them. They said that we wouldn't know anything until letters go out at the end of the month.

My son received a nomination from one of the TN senators posted on his USMA portal on the 23rd. TN61 who I believe is Alexander as the senior senator(1). No letter received yet.

Congrats on his nom! The USAFA portal lists the name of congresman, what do you mean by TN61? I've not seen that for senators, only the congressional districts which run TN01-TN09.

Good job! Hoping for the other senators in that case mine hasn't changed. I hope my act scores at the time of applying are good enough, they changed pretty drastically since then.

[The USAFA portal lists the name of congresman, what do you mean by TN61? I've not seen that for senators, only the congressional districts which]

On the USMA site, it lists, under Nominations, TN07 and the date, which is Blackburn District 7, and TN61, which I understand is Alexander though I could be wrong. It's one of the senators.
