I started my application very late in the game, early December, and I'd planned on taking my CFA (the last open task) on 20 Jan after about a solid month of training. As life would have it, 20 Jan through 23 Jan I was on quarters for one of the worst cases of the flu I've ever had. Rescheduled and took the assessment yesterday and got:

Basketball Toss- 39 feet
Pull Ups- 7
Shuttle Run- 9.6 secs
Sit Ups- 85
Push Ups- 50
1 Mile.... 9:26

Spoke to my admissions advisor and that run time is a definite no go. Someone is going to review my entire file and decide whether a retest based off extenuating circumstances is an option but at the moment, 2019 isn't looking so hot for me. My question for you fine forum folk, is what you ran? Of course I'm going to shoot for the absolute best score possible should I be granted a second chance (rightly so!), but I'd also like to hear what some of the other candidates knocked out.

Thanks!

Subtle Sealy,
If it's any consolation, I did terribly on the mile as well. I got somewhere in the 9 min range, can't remember exactly what, but I want to say somewhere around 9:45....? (Again, don't quote me on that!) But I am a female, and I passed. I bet you've got a good shot at a retake, though. The rest of your CFA seems pretty decent, so as long as you're competitive in the other areas, from my understanding you should be able to retake it. Good luck!

When I took mine my mile and basketball throw weren't so hot but I think I did alright.
Basketball Throw- 61 feet
Pull Ups- 13
Shuttle Run-9.0 seconds
Situps- 95(maxed)
Push Ups- 73
Mile- 7:01
Looking at yours the biggest problems seem to be definitely that mile and I think probably your basketball toss. It's all about technique and practice with that one. Best of luck with this years admissions and your future endeavors!

BB: 35 ft
FAH: 18 sec
PU: 40
SU: Max
Shuttle: 10 sec
Run: 8:20

I withdrew my app last year after completing it, but I passed with these scores for all 3 academies.

Whoops, I probably should've mentioned that I'm a girl! Hmm... hopefully if they give me a retake even in the next couple days I can knock off about thirty seconds to a minute. Thank you! Hopefully I'll see you come June!

Definitely the mile, and that basketball toss is a killer! I've read up on the technique and I understand it, the trouble is getting my body to consistently do it. Practice, practice, practice for sure. Thanks so much :)

Thank you, that's good to know! Looks like I'm just going to have to push through with the mile if I get a second go around.

I'm a female as well, and I got:
basketball throw : 43
pull up: 4
pushups: 42
sittups : 86
shuttle run: 9.2
mile: 8:13

Subtle Sealy, you did an awesome job on your pull ups! What exercises did you do that helped you with them?

Geez, ladies! All I have to say is, I am very impressed with your physical fitness! I would really appreciate some tips as to how you were able to get in such great shape!

Thanks USAFA2019hopefu! :) I was a competitive dancer from 5 to 18 so I've got a decent foundation with upper body exercises, granted I've lost a lot of the strength I once had in the 2 years since I've stopped.

I'm enlisted right now and work two or three 12 hour shifts in a row, so I set an alarm and knock out a set amount of push ups every hour (35 day one, 40 day two, 45 day three or something similar), do the same with sit ups, then head to the back and do as many pulls ups as I can (this number decreases drastically as the day/night wears on). When I get to the point where I can't pull my chin to the bar anymore, I hang in the highest position possible so I still work the muscles.

By the end of my shift I'm super sore of course, but I've seen a lot of progress since I first started training for the CFA.

I am also a female
My CFA
Bb 44ft
Pull UPS 3
Shuttle run 8.3
Sit UPS 95
Push UPS 50
Mile 7:15
But these are my scores after training for about 3 months my first scores weren't so great.

My CFA scores:
BB-61ft
Arm Hang:21 sec
Shuttle: 10.2
Push Ups: 45
Sit Ups: 95
Mile: 8:30 (would have been faster but it was right b4 the early action date and my ankle was the sprained badly and about the size of a grapefruit when I took it)
My scores allowed me to be 3Q'd for Army so I assume that I passed for USAFA.

Prior Doolie here. My CFA as a male wasn't the greatest, but it was recorded by an officer and 100% accurate (not saying that any aren't), but that is what I put in my comments about it. I wrote that my form was excellent due to the form that the FAC enforces. I can't remember everything, but running in a snow flurry was at the end.

BBall ~= 69 ft
Pullups ~= 10
Shuttle Run ~= 9.3 secs
PU ~= 55 after foot slipping and knee hitting and self-eliminating knowing the rules
SU ~= 85
Mile ~= 7:15

Again, I know those were terrible, but I took it end of January with only a bit more than the PT that I did with my Flight and Squadron. I don't honestly know what helped other than it was my 2nd year applying and last eligible year. Obviously I had done some things to earn my recommendations which came from my Wg/CC, SQ/CC, and SQ/Shirt. I know it was my leadership helping me that got me here. Be the best that you want to be at your job and volunteer for unique opportunities. I had the privilege of being a cadre for a week for JROTC cadets spending a week in the summer, was on Base Honor Guard doing 32 funerals, 7 Colors, 1 dignified transfer, and 1 wedding arch in 4 months of that duty, and I received SrA BTZ as a result of those 2. All 3 of those were new additions to my 2nd time applying and I believe all 3 helped earn the recommendations and overall an appointment. I know there are Airmen out there who have done much more to deserve this, but many of those are too old to apply. Keep applying and keep doing what you should to set up your enlisted career while trying to develop your leadership abilities to show USAFA you deserve to be here. Take the ACT and SAT as many times to improve your score unless you get a 36 on ACT or 1600 SAT. Contact you Liason Officer if you have a question that he/she could answer. And feel free to PM me if you have any questions that I can answer. A decently fit female and male in Honor Guard with me applied the same time as my 2nd time. The female was deemed competitive with a 28 ACT. I had 29 ACT. The male had 25 or 26 ACT and wasn't deemed competitive. For some reason, that female didn't get an appointment and I did. She could make it here and so could you. If you really want it, apply as many times as possible and accept an offer here or to the Prep school.
