When can I expect USNA to respond yes/no to my NASS application?

I believe they do rolling admissions, so how long after application submission can I expect to hear a reply? I got my application in the day after it opened.

Also, would it be an email notification?

Some people hear fairly quickly. I've known folks to receive an offer to attend as late as May.

I think they use email only now. Three years ago it was a letter, but they phased that out. Be sure to check your spam as well as a precaution. Good luck!

My son went last year and he got email well before he got snail mail. His email went to spam so we almost missed it. I agree with the poster that said to check your spam mail often

We actually did miss the email and my son got an email later on telling him that his spot was going to be given away if he did not respond within the next three days of the notification. Be sure you are looking. Lucky for him, he saw the second email and was able to respond in time and attend.

I was notified by e-mail when I attended NASS last summer. The response came the week after I sent out my application for the program. Good luck!

I was waitlisted in the spring, and I was accepted the week before my session, so it could be a while.

DD attended NASS last summer. She submitted her application the day after it opened, and received her acceptance on February 11. As others have said, it was an email notification from USNA Admissions. Good luck!

Some applicants, especially those from areas/schools that are well represented at USNA may not hear until the very last minute. NASS largely targets geographic areas and/or schools that historically don't send any or many people to USNA (or have few candidates even apply). However, if those folks don't apply and/or there are turndowns from accepted applicants, places open up. So don't despair if February and March and even April go by without a word.

Do they even e-mail or mail to you even if you do not get accepted?
A student at my DS's school applied and did not get accepted. They did not tell him he didn't, he just didn't get an invitation. Although, I do believe the application to NASS did get his application to the Academy started early!

Last year my DS applied to NASS and received an email on 4/15 (last day of notifications) stating that he did not get accepted to NASS. However, he became an Official Candidate in early June and now he sits today 3Q'd with 2 noms. Just waiting on the BFE!!!
