Hi,

I just wanted to thank the senior posters on this forum for all of the advice and encouragement that they have offered these past months as my son was pursuing an AROTC scholarship. JCleppe, Clarkson, Pima, Bull, and those whose names I can't recall at the moment- Thank you.

DS got a 3yr to Syracuse and RPI. He realizes that the process has just begun and will end many years from now. The next hurdle is DODMERB, but that shouldn't pose an issue.

The bigger issue is deciding which school to choose. Both are top-notch and he faces a hard choice.

Well, thanks again for all your help so far. Hopefully, we will be able to pay it forward in the future.

To those of you still waiting- don't give up. Hang in there and hope for the best.

Thanks,
Bill

Thank you to the parents that have clearly done superb jobs in raising these candidates and supporting them as they choose to join this profession, and the uneasy path of pursuing an ROTC Scholarship or SA Appointment.

Thank you to all of you candidates and soon-to-be cadets on your decision to serve. You have, no doubt, many options to pursue for your future as you leave high school and your decision to join the profession of arms is a testament to your achievements, character, commitment, and dedication to this nation. I thank you for that decision.

And thank you for being younger than me. Reading the resume's each year of those here applying for scholarships and SA's shows the increase in quality of applicants over the years. I don't think I would stand a chance if I had to compete for a scholarship these days, and that's a compliment to each of you.

Congratulations and welcome. Enjoy the ride

Congratulations!! My DS is a member of the Mohawk Battalion (at Siena College, not RPI) so feel free to message me if he'd like to contact my son. Also, I grew up in Troy and still live in the area so can answer questions you have about about the area.

Hi,

DS got a 3yr to Syracuse and RPI.

Thanks,

Great! DS got 3 year two years ago and is AROTC!!!!!! Many years ago my brother went to RPI for Air Force ROTC and very much enjoyed the experience. Now an engineer after serving his time.

Congrats again,
