Considering that it is Jan. 31st and I have not received a nomination up to this point, I am going to assume that I am now just waiting for the TWE.

But hey I guess I get to be USNAco2020hopeful now :D

With that being said, would anyone be able to offer incite on how the reapplication process differs from the first time; for example does one automatically become a candidate for the next class simply for being a previous candidate, or is there some sort of process that needs to be initiated/completed.

Hold on! The game isn't over yet. MOC slates and application closure is today. Have you been notified you didn't get a nom? Remember admissions is being flooded with stuff right now. It will take them a little bit to upload Noms and updates. I know it feels defeating being on the board and seeing all the appointments but remember this is a sample of about 10% of those appointed. Hang in there, keep working on your fitness and finish the school year strong. If in the end you get the TWE, read the sticky at the top of the page about being a re applicant and speak with your BGO about how to strengthen your file. But, you aren't there yet!

I am a reapplicant, and I didn't get a nom for navy on my second try (army was first choice, and am hopefully waiting on an offer). With that being said, the portal takes time to update, so unless you are positive you didn't receive a nom, you are not out of the running yet. Also today is the last day to apply for the VP nom.

From my experience, DoDMERB is good for 2 years and ACT/SAT scores transfer (although admissions likes to see you take it again). The rest needs to be done again.

Best of luck for this and next year's admissions cycle. I honestly learned a lot about myself spending a year at college, so it isn't the worst thing in the world, just make sure you have lots of scholarships and a good plan b.

Don't count yourself out until the TWE is in hand.

To answer your question it's all the same process. Only difference is you're sort of in your own category as a college applicant. You will not have a chance for early board or an LOA. Your file won't even be considered until your first semester college transcript is in. On the plus side, it's looked at favorably by nom panels to be a reapplicant.

IF you receive the TWE, ask the RD how your application can be improved. I realize in your case it might be lack of nomination but there is always something missing. Good luck.

Usnaco2019hopeful I received my congressional nomination for both the USNA and usafa yesterday. The airforce showed up on my portal today and the navy is still pending, so I hope the same is happening with you. If I could give you my JROTC honor unit nomination I would; this is not the end my friend, keep pushing and maybe well see each other on the fleet someday. Hooyah...

P.S. The usna is not the only way to become an officer; my fallback plan is texas a&m gig 'em! :D
